Recently, the wife of one of Tim's co-workers asked for tips on cooking meals during the week. I have to say I was quite flattered as I do not consider myself a particularly good cook. We've since emailed several times about everything from food to career choices...I've really enjoyed emailing back and forth. Anyway, in talking to her I've discovered that getting good, somewhat square meals on the table isn't as easy for some people as it is for others. It's one thing to watch 30 minute meals. It's another to actually put it into action in a regular work week. So, I decided to "publish" (on my blog that is) what I do anyway for our family. Consider it a public service. Below is our grocery list along with our menu for the week accompanied with recipe locations.

If you guys think this is helpful and think you might want to use this for your own family, let me know; I'd love to hear your feedback. If so I can keep posting our menu and grocery list for each week. I know how hard it is to put good meals on the table for you and your family after a busy week. This post is dedicated to my mom who always put square meals on the table for us. Although I didn't help much with the cooking, I quickly realized after getting married that good food wouldn't magically appear on the table. So I slowly but surely started learning how to cook and plan out meals for the week. I just watch food network, and collect recipes from friends to stay motivated (and hungry!). Enjoy!

I love seeing what other people are eating for dinner...getting new ideas is so helpful! I used to do the "Menu Plan Monday" thing on my blog but haven't in a while...sometimes because I'm lazy and sometimes because I'm embarrassed at my plan for the week. :) I will enjoy seeing what you're up to in the kitchen and will try and share our "staples" at some point so you can mix it up when you feel like it, too!

yes yes, please!! It seems like every weekend, I'm putting together a menu for the next week, the same ole ideas come to mind. I need some new ones and it's so good to get them from someone that has tried them and are relatively easy! Thanks for posting this...Oh...and Savannah is just a doll!
This is awesome Heather! I am terrible about getting good meals on the table, and the grocery list is the hardest part. I never seem to have what I need! Thanks for sharing!
