Grocery List and Menu

Here's the grocery list and menu for the week. I've selected some really easy meals because, I hate to admit it, but I burned myself out a little this past week. I think 2 really easy meals, and a couple that involve a little more prep is the way to go. I've selected another slow cooker meal, as I really enjoyed the last one. I probably enjoyed coming home and not having to do anything more than than the meal itself. One of the meals requires a little explanation as it is not linked to a recipe and that is the Turkey Tenderloin and Meredith's veggies. So, so simple. All you do is buy a Turkey or pork tenderloin pre marinated. You can find them in the meat section of the grocery and there should be several to chose from like Teriyaki, honey mustard, etc. If you have a George Foreman Rotisserie like me, just roast it for about 40 minutes and that's it! If not, you can roast in the oven according to the instructions. Then for Meredith's veggies, just select a few of your favorite veggies (I've selected squash, zuchinni, onions, and red pepper) slice and dice, marinate in Italian Dressing for at least a couple of hours and either roast in the oven or sautee in a pan. It's the recipe of one of my best girlfriends Meredith. Gotta give credit where credit is due. All the other meals have links to the recipes.

Also, I've decided to post the cost of the weekly grocery bill to keep you inspired. Some people think cooking well means you'll spend more money. I've found that it's actually quite the opposite. You'll find that you'll eat out less, which will cut WAY back on expenses. Also just sticking with the list will save you tons of money. I've found that if I send my husband to the store, we have much better luck with sticking to the list!
So this week's grocery bill was $70.12. Can you believe it! I recommend Super Walmart too...although we really hate going there sometimes, they really do have low prices. We may try Super Target next week to compare the total cost. I like Super Target a lot better. Enjoy!

I did some price shopping a few years back and found that super target was within pennies of super walmart's prices. Some were pennies more, some pennies less, so it really came out even.
