Tackle a Nagging Task

I am following the 2010 Happiness Project with Gretchen Rubin and you can too. This week's task related to the month's theme, energy, is to "Tackle a Nagging Task." The thing about these things is to start small. My nagging task was to make a Dr.'s appointment.

During my Freshman year of college, I'm sure I broke my ankle. It was an absolutely horrendous injury. My whole foot was a lovely shade of black. For reason, I've yet to understand, I never saw the doctor at that time and I'm pretty sure my foot didn't head correctly. Ever since then, my ankle has given me trouble. Just the other other day, I slipped in the kitchen. I didn't even twist my ankle, but just the mere mis-step caused it to sprain. I'm planning on signing up for the Nashville half-marathon with a bunch of my friends, but I know in the back of my mind that I need to FINALLY get this seen about before I start training. So I'm going to the Dr. on Monday!

Although I may not be happy about the results, it feels so good to get the simple task of making a doctor's appointment out of the way. I really feel the small things like that really can improve your happiness. Nagging tasks like that wear you down. It actually makes me feel lighter.

Updates to come on what the doc says.

I hope all is well and that your belated recovery won't take too long. I am excited to hear you're running a half! I'm planning to run one next December. Surely I've got enough time to train? :)
