Hustle and Bustle

Christmas took on a whole new meaning when I had kids. Traditions I have carried on through the years mean even more, and I am also starting new traditions with my own family. I get into the Christmas Spirit around Columbus day, and pretty much everyone in mine and my husband's family feels the same way. Given that I embrace the holiday season with this much gusto, this means that I say yes to making a dish at every available potluck, and sign my kids up for a Christmas event every weekend in December. I always find it a struggle to do the balancing act between living life to the fullest and just doing too much. As I'm pausing now to reflect on 2011 and set my resolutions for 2012, a lot of my goals and resolutions for 2012 are going to involve realistic way to enjoy the moment and be content with what I have. This will definitely come into play as we make our Christmas plans for next year. I say this because I'm taking this December as a "lessons learned." I had so much packed into our December and so much of it fell apart because of life's inevitable interruptions (more in a later post about this). Although December didn't quite turn out exactly as I imagined, we did manage to enjoy some holiday fun and make some lovely memories. Photos as evidence :)
