Something Blue

If you've been keeping up with us, you know that we are expecting a second little Conkin very soon! We always planned on having at least 2, maybe three, and thought maybe we'd thinking about another one well into Savannah's second year. This little Conkin had other plans. As we furiously are making plans for our life to change in a big way, yet again, it came time to find out whether we would be painting room #2 pink or blue.

We thought we would find out the gender late into June. I think it's fun to get family and friends together to reveal the gender, but with our house in boxes I wasn't sure how it was going to be possible. Well last week, I went to my monthly Dr. visit, and it wasn't supposed to be anything exciting. They ended up doing an ultrasound to check on a couple of things, and were able to tell what we were having! Tim wasn't there or anything, but he wanted me to go ahead and find out.

We're having a BOY!

Since we found out un-expectantly, we had no plans for a party or anything, and there was no way I could keep it a secret for 3 weeks which was when we'd be moved into our new house. My mom and brother were in Hawaii, so I went ahead and told them over the phone. Tim's parents got some of our family together and we had them open baby C's first gift, which was an embroidered blue and white blanket easily revealing we had a little boy on the way.

Poor Savannah is quickly getting outnumbered, but something tells me all the little boys in our family are going to know who's boss! She has had the chance to be around other tiny babies recently and so far she has done an excellent job with being gentle and using her "soft touches."

His name will be Caleb Andrew Conkin and we couldn't be more thrilled to be growing our family again.
