Well, it's a girl! Her name will be Savannah Elaine Conkin. Savannah because I love the name and the city and Elaine after Tim's paternal grandmother. We had fun revealing the sex of our baby to friends and family. I took off that Friday and Laura came over to help me prepare...we baked all day and cleaned up. Laura actually went with us to the ultrasounds appointment which was special :-) I made a chocolate cake (it wasn't so pretty, but it was good and served its purpose) and put pink icing on the inside. We served food for our friends and family and explained the our dessert would reveal the gender (pink or blue icing). Everyone put their name in a bowl and we drew to see who got to cute the cake. My uncle Bill got his name drawn and he was perfect for the job! For some reason, everyone thought we were having a boy, so it was fun to see the looks on everyone's faces.
That night, it hit me how blessed I am. Not only to be welcoming a healthy daughter into the world, but to be absolutely surrounded by the most amazing friends and family. It's not often that I'm with them all under one roof at the same time. Being away from them for the first couple of years of marriage has made me so appreciative. That love and support has carried me through the last nine months, and if all that love is any indication of how the support we will continue to be blessed with when she actually arrived...then this is one lucky little girl. Here are a few picture from our revealment party.

Explaining how this will work...
