The Conkin family had a great little weekend. Friday night Tim and I went on our first official date since Savannah was born. We went out to the movies once with his cousins and brother about three weeks after she came along, but this was the first time we did something just the two of us. We saw I Love You Manand it was surprisingly hilarious! We figured we needed a little comedic relief after the whole Coach Cal disappointment, and this certainly delivered. I was expecting it to be a little crude, but it really wasn't...definitely a few F bombs (which earned it it's R rating)though. Then Saturday we got up early and ate at Brother Junipers with Tony and Laura. We all napped and relaxed around the house before going to Las Tortugas for dinner..YUM! Of course we save room for dessert at Sheridan's Custard...after putting Savannah down, we watched Quantum of Solace, but of course I didn't make it through...I fell asleep. If we start a movie past 8:00, I can almost guarantee I will fall asleep. Even so, it was just about the perfect day. Below are a few pictures documenting the weekend.
So we've toyed with the idea of putting our house on the market. We didn't plan on moving out of this house for another couple of year, but with rates so low and prices falling out in the burbs we figured we'd take a look at the numbers. While it is tempting to try and sell, we decided to stick around for a while. However, in entertaining this idea, we got motivated to get some small cosmetic improvement done around the house. Sunday we were a little more productive. I took down an ugly, probably 30 year old border down out of our master bathroom. Tim replaced light bulbs and door knobs as well as swept every nook and cranny of the house among other things. We made a list of home project goals. Here's a partial list - I'll be sure to post before and after shots:
1. Paint back bathroom
2. Replace living room fan
3. Mulch/flowers
4. Repaint moldings and office
5. Replace light in Kitchen
6. Paint tile in front bathroom
7. Faucet/Sink
8. Replace kitchen tile Stay tuned!
