Twas the Day before Thanksgiving...

WARNING: This post contains dialogue containing vomit and poo.

You've been warned!!!

Today is the day before Thanksgiving and I decided to keep Savannah home with Caleb and me to test myself on how I can handle two at home by myself. And of course to spend some quality time together. Caleb had his newborn appointment today, so I also decided to take Savannah in too to get her flu shot. Tim was getting off work a little early so he could take us all.

I decided it would be easier to take a shower early as to avoid the dilema of getting a shower with both kids awake. So I rushed to take a shower while she was still sleeping and he was lying peacefully in his bassinet. Then I went to get my little girl excited about letting her spend little extra time in her PJs and relaxing around at breakfast. That's not exactly how the morning went. I opened her door and noticed her hair was a different color, caked down and sticking out everywhere. That's when I saw the vomit EVERYWHERE. Poor thing. Then I heard little man start fussing. So we rushed to get her out of her clothes and into the bath. Then we stripped the sheets and made our way downstairs. I could tell she still wasn't feeling well when she wouldn't touch her breakfast. Then she threw up like old faithful right in the middle of the kitchen (thank goodness it was in an easy to clean surface!)

Ok - this is the most disgusting part, but I did warn you. At that time, the dogs decided they would like to skip their normal breakfast and partake in what Savannah had provided. Minutes later, THEY started throwing up. You can't make this stuff up people!

Good thing we were going to the doctor. Things seemed to have calmed down on our way back. However, I do feel like any progress I made during my recovery was reversed after cleaning constantly, picking up children, changing sheets, etc. On a side note - deliver recovery the second time seems to be worse! No one told me this! But that's different post.

I don't mean to share this to complain, but just to let anyone know who has gone through something similar (and probably everyone has) that you are not alone!

Welcome to my life the last 3 weeks! Gracious! Both of my girls have had the stomach bug and puke at inopportune times. Now, Clara has the REAL flu and I'm having to still deal with throw up because of her high fevers I can't keep down! Will it ever end?!? Not sure! This pregnant woman can't take much longer! :) I right there with you on recovery the second time around. I was back in the hospital by day 11! Definitely over doing it!
