Also though I had a couple of slips and another big challenge. I'm sorry though, I'm not starting this whole thing over again.
First for the biggest challenge over the last few days: a baby shower. Social functions are just so difficult! Not only because everything that looks so yummy is likely not nutritious, but also because often times you feel bad or guilty turning it down. Anyway, I was able to still enjoy a few things without giving in...
Or so I thought...
Which brings me to my first stumble- I had some chicken salad (no bread of course) only after realizing that I shouldn't have had it because it contained mayo which contains soybean oil! Geez! If it has a ton of ingredients listed, it's probably not any good.
Another stumble - I licked my finger after opening my daughter's yogurt. I know, silly right, but I have to confess everything.
One last major intentional stumble - I had a bowl of cereal. There is really no excuse when you set your mind to something like this, but here's mine anyway. Our whole family has recently been plagued with this awful stomach flu. I came down with in Sunday night (fever, chills, the shakes, the whole bit) and didn't feel like eating a thing. When I finally felt like eating, my body was starved of nutrients of course and I just wanted bad carbs. It was the only thing I could imagine eating without throwing up, so I ate it.
At least it wasn't chocolate pie.

So, how about Savannah? Is she getting the Paleo treatment as well? Just curious if you've changed what she's eating as well. I agree with you about if something has too many ingredients, it's probably NOT paleo! But, I've found a few good things that were (without me having to make them myself). Lara Bars are a godsend. And most of them are Whole30 compliant, except the ones with chocolate. As far as feeling the need for something sweet after a meal, I read a tip that says to include your sweet thing (fruit usually) with your meal. The point is to try to break the habit of "needing something sweet". (I fall in to this category MAJORLY!) I also found having a cup of hot tea worked well. Also, if you find yourself in need of some inspiration to make it through (I know I did..I am attempting my second round of Whole30 now...with no cheats!) then check out this blog post on Whole9's site. It really motivated me! http://whole9life.com/2010/05/w30-motivation/
As fas as Savannah, I'd say she eats Paleo"ish." I'm not an advocate for fixing your child a totally separate meal so she pretty much eats what we eat along with some extra toast, yogurt, or cheese slices...things like that.
It's not always that I need something sweet...I think I've gotten better about that. It's that I don't fell fully full. Maybe that's the problem; maybe my version of full is too much. But those are good tips. I had head the one about mixing fruit with your meal instead of after. That's a good one.
Have you ever gotten sick during a Whole30 go round? That's been tough for us.
