My little girl went through a shy stage around the time she turned two. While I had no qualms about having a shy child, I did worry about making sure she could fend for herself in social situations. She is in preschool/daycare full time, so I know she gets plenty of socialization, but I thought I'd try putting her in dance lessons to see if she liked it and also to see if it would help her engage even more with other kids. I don't know if it will be her "passion," but she certainly has loved going to dance class each Friday and we are looking forward to her first recital! They've had a couple of show days during which Savannah mostly gazed off into the distance or at us not doing her part in the least. Funny thing is, when I sneak a peak at her when she's practicing, she is concentrating so hard and has every part down! I guess she has stage fright. Oh well. She's having fun, and I love to see my little girl do things independently shaping her into the person she's going to be. More to come after recital!
