I have been wanting to redecorate the kids's room for a while now and am getting around to it these last few weeks. I got some free furniture from my grandmother that I wanted to refinish with plans to give Caleb Savannah's old furniture (which was kind of boyish anyway). When Caleb was on the way, I was in such a rush to get his room together because we moved into our house just a couple of months before he was born and there never had been much in there. So now was the perfect time to make some updates. I am not great at putting something together from scratch, but I know what I like when I see it. Now-a-days there are so many online resources for inspiration. I used a blog called
Lay Baby Lay for Caleb's room update. I pretty much copied the whole design template. I wanted something that could grow with him; nothing to babyish. The theme is "
Fit for a King" and here it is! Enjoy!
Caleb's room before; not bad, but there wasn't much going on...I wanted something more than the typical letters above the crib. (although I did make the letters!)
Caleb's room after! Much more manly.
Curtains from Carousel Designs. Most of the framed prints are from All Posters.
I will eventually put something else on this wall, but love the antique map. We had it mounted on board, because it was going to be over $300 to frame! Yikes! It turned out better that I expected.
